Delete your account

You can delete your Gladden account and everything in it at any time. You don't have to ask us, and you don't have to give a reason.

From the app

  1. Open Gladden and go to Settings.
  2. Under Account, tap Delete my account.
  3. Tap Delete everything to confirm. It runs straight away and signs you out.

What gets removed

Everything belonging to the account, in this order:

The copy held on your own phone is cleared at the same time. Nothing is retained afterwards, and there is no grace period during which the account could be recovered — this cannot be undone. If you want to keep what you wrote, use Settings → Export entries first.

Backups

Our database is backed up routinely, and those backups may still contain deleted content for up to 30 days before they rotate out. They aren't readable by the app and aren't used to restore individual accounts. After 30 days, no copy remains anywhere.

If you can't get into the app

If you've lost the device or can't sign in, email [email protected] from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you before doing anything — we won't delete an account on the say-so of whoever sent the mail — and we'll write back once it's done. Allow up to 30 days, though in practice it's much quicker.

If you want less than everything gone

Settings → Delete all entries empties the journal and keeps the account, so you can start again from nothing. Any single entry can be deleted on its own from the entry itself.
